The Effect of the Madrasah Principal's Policies on Student Academic Achievement

The purpose of this study is to ascertain how the principal's policies at MTs Negeri 1 in East Bolaang Mongondow Regency affect the academic performance of the students. A quantitative, descriptive research methodology was employed. Questionnaires, recordkeeping, and observation were among the methods used to gather data. All of the students of MTs Negeri 1 East Bolaang Mongondow made up the study's population, and purposive sampling was used to choose the sample. The relationship and contribution of the principal's policies to student academic achievement were examined using data analysis using Pearson's correlation and the coefficient of determination. The findings show a strong correlation between student academic success and the principal's policies. The two variables have a very strong and positive association, as shown by the Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.877. Additionally, the coefficient of determination of 77% shows that changes in student academic achievement are significantly influenced by the principal's policies, with other factors not included in this study accounting for the remaining 23%. These results imply that better academic results can be supported by appropriate policies pertaining to learning facilities, student discipline, teacher professionalism, academic supervision, and the development of a supportive learning environment. Therefore, it can be concluded that the principal’s policies play a crucial role in enhancing student academic achievement at MTs Negeri 1 East Bolaang Mongondow Regency. The findings highlight the importance of adaptive, consistent, and participatory leadership in improving the quality of madrasah education.

Navigating Tradition and Modernity in the Strategic Management of Madrasah Aliyah Multicultural: Giddens' Structuring Perspective

This study aims analyzes the process of navigating between tradition and modernity in the strategic management of Madrasah Aliyah at MAN 2 Banyumas, which is multicultural, using Anthony Giddens’ structuration theory framework. Through a qualitative case study approach at MAN 2 Banyumas Madrasah Aliyah, which represents different management models, data were collected through in-depth interviews (n=4 informants), participatory observation, and document analysis. The findings reveal the main result supporting the central claim that the strategic management of Madrasah Aliyah at MAN 2 Banyumas is a dynamic process of structuration in which madrasah actors simultaneously reproduce traditional structures that legitimize their existence while transforming them through innovative agency practices to respond to the demands of modernity. The first piece of evidence shows that the duality of signification structures (Islamic scholarly tradition versus national curriculum standards) creates productive tension that encourages hybrid strategic practices. The second piece of evidence reveals that the agency of the head of the madrasah and the madrasah committee in distributing resources and negotiating rules mediates the relationship between traditional structures and the demands of modernity. The third piece of evidence demonstrates that external legitimacy (accreditation, public recognition, and international cooperation) functions as a mechanism of institutional reflexivity that enables the madrasah to maintain its Islamic identity while improving its global competitiveness. This study contributes to the development of Islamic education management theory by integrating a structuration perspective, and it also provides practical implications for madrasah administrators in designing transformation strategies that do not sacrifice traditional identity.

The Effectiveness of Canva-Based Moral Education Media with an Deep Learning Approach in Improving the Learning Climate of Elementary School Students

This research is motivated by the lack of optimal learning climate in moral education learning in elementary schools, which is shown by the lack of maximum student involvement, interaction, and comfort during the learning process. This condition demands an innovation in learning media that is not only visually appealing, but also able to encourage in-depth learning engagement. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Canva-based moral education media with an in-depth learning approach in improving the learning climate of grade II elementary school students. This research uses research and development methods through the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subject of the study was a grade II student at SD Negeri Pergiwatu Wetan, Kulon Progo Regency. Data was collected through questionnaires, observations, and documentation, then analyzed in a quantitative descriptive manner. The results of the study showed that there was an increase in the percentage of students' learning climate from 79.39 percent in the stage before the use of media with the good category to 87.04 percent in the stage after the use of media with the very good category. This increase shows a positive change in the aspects of student engagement, interaction, and learning comfort. Students become more active, enthusiastic, and responsive in participating in learning. These findings show that the integration of Canva-based media with a deep learning approach makes a real contribution to creating a more conducive learning climate. Thus, the media developed is declared effective and has novelty as an alternative to learning innovations in moral education in elementary schools.
