Development of a Wordwall-Based Test Instrument for Qur'an and Hadith Learning Assessment at Madrasah Al Yusra in Gorontalo City

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Wordwall-based test instrument for assessing Al-Qur'an and Hadith learning at Madrasah Aliyah Al Yusra in Gorontalo City and to determine its validity and initial effectiveness based on a limited trial. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, consisting of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research subjects included media experts, subject matter experts, teachers of Al-Qur'an and Hadith, and five tenth-grade students involved in the limited trial. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, documentation, and learning outcome tests. Data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis and N-Gain analysis. The results showed that the final average validation score was 88.75%, categorized as highly valid, consisting of a media expert validation score of 95% and a final subject matter expert validation score of 82.5%. In the limited implementation trial, the students' average score increased from 80.2 in the pre-test to 91.6 in the post-test, with an average N-Gain score of 0.60, categorized as moderate. These findings indicate that the Wordwall-based test instrument has met the validity criteria and shows promising initial results as a digital assessment instrument for Al-Qur'an and Hadith learning. However, because the implementation involved only five students, the findings should be interpreted as preliminary and cannot yet be generalized to a wider population. The developed instrument integrates interactive features, images, audio, and HOTS-oriented questions to provide a more engaging learning-assessment experience.
