Pedagogical Strategies of Islamic Religious Education Teachers in Preventing and Addressing Bullying Behavior in Elementary Education

Education, in essence, does not merely aim to develop individuals’ cognitive intelligence, but also seeks to cultivate affective knowledge related to moral and ethical values. The objectives of this study are: (1) to identify the forms of bullying perpetrated by students at SD Negeri 80 Kendari, and (2) to examine the challenges faced by Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in addressing bullying behavior. This research employs a case study design with a qualitative approach. The data sources consist of primary and secondary data. The subjects of this study include students and teachers of SD Negeri 80 Kendari. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The data analysis techniques applied by the researcher involve data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The validity of data in qualitative research refers to the degree of trustworthiness of the research findings and their accountability. To ensure data credibility, several techniques were employed, including prolonged engagement, persistent observation, and triangulation. The findings of this study indicate that the forms of bullying occurring at SD Negeri 80 Kendari include physical bullying, such as hitting and kicking, as well as verbal bullying, including mocking, mentioning parents’ names, insulting, and other similar behaviors. The challenges encountered by PAI teachers in overcoming bullying include: (1) students’ social interactions outside the school environment, (2) the influence of media and technology, and (3) limited time and resources. Therefore, this research has implications for behavioral change among students at SD Negeri 80 Kendari and has successfully contributed to significant improvements in students’ attitudes
